Gunpowder, Treason and….Muddy Carpets?
The night is almost upon us where we commemorate the failed attempts of Guy Fawkes and his 12 compatriots in destroying the Houses of Parliament.
Across the country, households will congregate at pre-planned bonfire events, letting off fireworks and writing their names with sparklers.
However, some households will choose to celebrate at home, from the comfort of their gardens or owned land.
Whichever way you choose to spend your 5th November, it is always important to remember safety measures. Ensure you are far enough away from fireworks when they are lit and dumping your defused sparklers into a bucket of cool water.
Flaws with your floor?
These aren’t the only things to take into consideration however. The danger of putting your carpets and upholstery at risk of mud is a big issue.
As the weather gets colder and the rain sweeps the nation, the mud becomes unbearably sticky. Especially to big soled shoes such as wellington and hiking boots, which are most commonly worn to events such as bonfire night.
With kids overly excited from the commotion and even adults feeling a bit too relaxed the moment they walk in the door, the nightmare of muddy carpets is a distant thought. However, we are here to help.
Whilst it is not the most tricky substance to get out of your beloved carpet, if not handled with care, the situation can get a lot worse. The same goes for upholstery.
As we’re also in the middle of autumn, it’s not just your carpets that are at risk of serious damage. Your gutters will becoming the stomping ground of falling leaves.
Clogged gutters can lead to a handful of issues such as flooding, mold and bacteria growth and even foundation damage.
Luckily for you, CBS Cleaning, part of CBS Group, are here to help. We provide a wide range of services to help your home survive autumn including cleaning muddy carpets.
Here at CBS Cleaning we hope you have a great Bonfire Night. And we hope for your sake that your carpets survive the festivities too!
